TDWG 2022 - a Hybrid Conference

Although the pandemic appears to be waning in many countries, we expect that many organizations will still be limiting professional travel in the fall of 2022. Consequently, TDWG 2022 will be a hybrid conference: in-person for those who can travel, and virtual for those who cannot. The conference will accommodate symposia, workshops, contributed oral and poster presentations, demos, and discussions, as well as keynotes and social events. Session timing will be anchored to the working hours of Sofia, Bulgaria, where the in-person conference will be held. Sessions will be streamed live, as well as recorded and posted within hours for people participating remotely (registration required).

TDWG Member Discounts:

TDWG members who have already paid their membership should have received a code that will provide a 50 euro discount on their registration. Please remember that institutions may apply the discount to the registration for up to five affiliated professional staff only. See list of institutional members to confirm your institution’s status.

Informational:

• How to find my time zone (in relation to Sofia, Bulgaria).
• If you are presenting virtually, and you cannot make your time slot, we will need a recording of your talk.
• Close of abstract submission is 1 July 2022.
• Early Registration ends on 22 July 2022.

• Online admission to all sessions
• All digital conference materials and presentations

Accompanying person fee includes:

• Admission to the Welcome reception (16 October 2022; 5-7pm)
• Admission to the Banquet (20 October 2022)
• Excursion to Rila Monastery (19 October 2022)

Excursion to Rila Monastery (19 October 2022) includes:

• English speaking tour guide
• Guided visit at the Rila Monastery
• Lunch at a local restaurant near the monastery
• Entrance fee for the museum
• Transport with a modern air-conditioned bus
• All parking fees

Note: Pre-conference excursions are at an additional cost. They will be booked directly through a partner website.

Terms & Conditions

Modification conditions:

If you have to change from in-person to virtual, we can switch your registration to virtual and refund the difference (minus credit card processing fees) for switching before 17 August 2022. Please send correspondence to conf-organizers@tdwg.org.

In-person no-shows with no correspondence will not be refunded.

Standard cancellation terms:

All alterations or cancellations to your registration must be made via email to conf-organizers@tdwg.org and will be acknowledged by email. Questions should be addressed to conf-organizers@tdwg.org.

An administration charge (including credit card processing fees) will be made to any participant canceling before 17 August 2022. Cancellations received after 17 August 2022 will be required to pay a full registration fee. However, if you are unable to attend, substitutes are welcome at no additional cost.

By submitting your registration you agree to the terms of the cancellation policy.

COVID-19 cancellation terms:

Delegates who are unable to attend the Conference due to COVID-19 will be automatically transferred to become virtual delegates (recorded events will be available virtually). It is the responsibility of the individual to contact the conference organizers (conf-organizers@tdwg.org). Delegates must send a note to conf-organizers@tdwg.org to qualify for a refund of the difference between in-person and virtual (minus processing fees). 

All other cancellations will be subject to the standard cancellation policy. 

Substitutions:

Substitution of delegates is allowed at any time before Monday 10 October 2022.

• Substitutions are allowed for delegates. Please notify the TDWG secretariat through the organizers (conf-organizers@tdwg.org) in writing if substitutions are required. 
• Substitution of a presenting author by an alternative person (one of your co-authors only) is acceptable however, conf-organizers@tdwg.org should be notified.

VISA support:

• If you are unable to obtain a required VISA to attend this meeting in person, contact us conf-organizers@tdwg.org by 17 August so we can switch your registration to virtual and refund the difference (minus credit card processing fees) of any in-person fees already paid.
